What to arrange a month before the move?
It is worth starting to report your change of address a month before the move: local council, tax office, social security, GP, bank, insurer, school or kindergarten. What to arrange 2–3 weeks before?

How to pack if you do it yourself?
Fill the box so that, when stacked, the bottom box and its contents don't get crushed. Wrap fragile items one by one with plenty of paper, and mark and set aside the box. Always use the smallest box for heavy items (books, folders). Write the contents and the destination room on every box – it makes unpacking in the new flat easier too. What to do the day before the move?

What to tell the movers on moving day?

That way they can prepare and carry out the move as carefully as possible. For a morning start we give a fixed time and keep to it; for jobs later in the day we confirm by phone about an hour before arrival.
