Transport of antique furniture and works of art
If you would like antique furniture, antiques, paintings, works of art, sculptures or other valuables transported safely, do not hesitate to contact us! The professional furniture moving team of Herkules-Trans Moving always transports its clients’ valuables with the utmost precision.
We often come across pieces of furniture that, because of their size, will not fit through the door (and dismantling and reassembling them would be too much work, or they cannot be dismantled at all). In such cases we lower or hoist the furniture through the window.
With an external furniture hoist we also fulfil individual requests.
Tips for the day of the furniture transport:

How much does furniture transport in Budapest cost?
For transporting a few pieces of furniture, the 20 m³ truck + 2 movers package is suitable: HUF 18,000 base fee + HUF 18,000/hour, with a minimum of 2 hours of work; call-out is free in Budapest. In some cases we work with a fixed amount. The full price list can be found on the moving prices page.

Do you also transport a single piece of furniture?
Yes. We transport even a single armchair, sofa, fridge or wardrobe, within Budapest and to the rest of Hungary, not just complete household or office moves. Home delivery from the shop and assembly of newly purchased furniture are also part of our service.
What happens if the furniture does not fit through the door?
In that case we work with an external furniture hoist, with which the furniture can be lowered or lifted through the window; if necessary, we disassemble the furniture professionally and reassemble it at the new location.
Removal of used furniture: after a sale or when disposing of it
With used furniture, two completely different tasks tend to come up, and we handle both.
- Delivering sold furniture to the buyer: if you sold a wardrobe, sofa or dining set through a classified ad, we deliver it to the address and carry it up. This is regular furniture transport, charged at the hourly rate.
- Taking away furniture you no longer need: if nobody needs the furniture any more, that is not furniture transport but junk removal. In that case we take it to an official waste processing centre, and whatever is still usable is donated where possible. Prices: junk removal prices.
Both can be done in one trip: we carry the new furniture up and take the old away at the same time. Please mention this at the survey, because we choose the size of the truck accordingly.
Furniture transport prices: a single item, one room, a whole apartment
Furniture transport uses the same hourly rate system as moving. The minimum charge is the base fee plus 2 hours of labour; after that, the actual working time counts until unloading is complete. There is no call-out or mileage fee within Budapest.

What fits in a 20 m³ and a 40 m³ truck?
A 20 m³ truck holds the furnishings of a studio or a smaller one- or two-room apartment, i.e. a wardrobe, bed, sofa, dining set, fridge, washing machine and a few dozen boxes. A 40 m³ truck carries the furniture of a large apartment or a family house in a single trip, including the cellar and garden furniture.
If you are not sure about the quantity, don't guess: we assess it at the free on-site survey or by video call, and we recommend the truck size and crew size. A truck that is too small means two trips, which means more working hours.
Furniture transport in Budapest, the agglomeration and the rest of Hungary
We deliver to all 23 districts of Budapest without a call-out fee. We reach the southern part of the agglomeration from our base in Érd, on the same terms: moving in Érd. We also transport furniture to and from the countryside: the hourly rate stays the same, and the base fee depends on mileage and tolls – details on the countryside moving page.
We can also give a quote for one or two pieces of furniture going abroad, under the terms of our international moving service, at a fixed price.
How do we transport furniture so it does not get damaged?
We protect furniture with blankets and wrap and secure it in the cargo area; wardrobes and chests of drawers stand on their feet, not on their sides. The fridge travels upright, and the washing machine drum is secured. The crew always brings tools, so you don't need to provide anything for dismantling and reassembly. The screws of dismantled furniture are attached to it in a bag, and we reassemble in the same order as we took it apart. If damage still occurs in transit, in the case of major damage we write a report on site; the crew leader investigates on the spot, and if it is clear that we caused it, in the case of minor damage we aim to settle it on the spot. We work with full liability insurance.
