Two movers carrying a flat-packed furniture package up the stairwell of a Budapest apartment building

Bought furniture at IKEA, JYSK or another store, but it won't fit in your car, or there's nobody to carry it up to the third floor? We collect it from the store or the pick-up point, carry it upstairs and put it in the room of your choice. We work with a 20 m³ truck and 2 experienced movers, with insurance and no call-out fee within Budapest.

This service is about delivery: we set the packages down undamaged and unopened. Herkules-Trans is an independent moving company, not an official delivery partner of IKEA or any other store.

How is it different from the store's own home delivery?

Stores' own home delivery is convenient, but the basic service usually only goes as far as the entrance. We take it all the way into your home:

Aspect Basic store delivery (typically) Herkules-Trans
How far is the furniture taken? Basic store delivery (typically)Typically to the first lockable door (gate, stairwell, ground floor); carrying upstairs is a separate service. Herkules-TransUpstairs, even without a lift, into the room of your choice.

Stores' delivery terms and fees may change; it is best to check the current ones on the store's own website.

Which stores do we deliver from?

From any furniture or DIY store in and around Budapest, for example:

  • IKEA Budaörs and IKEA Soroksár: from the collection point after the checkout, or from the pick-up point for online orders.
  • JYSK, Möbelix, XXXLutz, Mömax: flat-pack furniture, mattresses, bed frames, sofas.
  • OBI, Praktiker, Bauhaus: garden furniture, shelving systems, larger DIY goods.
  • Online orders: if the package is waiting at a warehouse or pick-up point, we can collect it from there too.

We collect the furniture you have bought from several places in one trip, so everything gets home with a single call-out.

How much does home delivery of store furniture cost?

A small moves pricing: the 20 m³ truck + 2 people package is HUF 18,000 base fee + HUF 18,000/hour, and the minimum charge is the base fee plus 2 hours, i.e. HUF 54,000. There is no call-out fee in Budapest and no mileage charge. A store pickup and one Budapest address usually fit into the minimum charge.

All prices shown are net amounts and do not include VAT at the applicable rate.

For a simple, easy-to-assess job (which store, how many packages, which floor, whether there is a lift) we can also give a fixed price in advance. Full price list: moving prices.

Do you also do assembly?

Yes, on request. You can ask for delivery only, assembly only, or both: we place the packages undamaged in the room you choose and, if you wish, we also assemble the furniture. If furniture that is already assembled in the flat needs to be moved or taken away, we handle as furniture transport .

What should you pay attention to when buying, so that delivery is quick?

  • Number of packages: the receipt or the order confirmation shows how many packages the furniture consists of. Send this to us, so we can see how big the load is.
  • Longest package: the long panels of wardrobes and bed frames don't always fit in the lift. If you know the size, we plan carrying it up the stairs in advance.
  • Collection details: order number, collection code, place and time of collection. The store's rules determine whether you also need to be there or whether a letter of authorisation is enough.
  • Delivery address: floor, lift size, parking options in front of the building.
