We have been moving people in Budapest, across Hungary and abroad since 1999. For us, professional moving has always meant that nothing goes to waste: not the furniture, not the time, not an unnecessary trip. A move involves lots of boxes, packing material, discarded items and kilometres, but a good part of that can be saved.

6 tips for an eco-friendly move
1. Don't buy new boxes
Most new cardboard boxes end up in the recycling after a single move. We our moving boxes we provide them against a deposit and take them back. This way the same multi-layer, sturdy cardboard box serves many moves.
2. Sort before the move
What doesn't go in the truck doesn't need to be moved. Fewer belongings mean a smaller vehicle, fewer trips and less fuel, and a shorter move. Start sorting weeks in advance – our our moving checklist also helps.
3. If it works, give it a new owner
Furniture, clothes and dishes that are still good are worth giving away or donating. Working household appliances can also be taken to a reuse centre in Budapest (District XV, Károlyi Sándor út 166; District XVIII, Besence utca 1/A).
4. Don't put e-waste out for bulky waste collection
An old fridge, washing machine or TV cannot be put out for residential bulky waste collection. When you buy a new appliance the retailer takes the old one back, and private individuals can drop them off free of charge at waste yards. 5. One trip, with the right size of truck
A truck that is too small means an extra trip, one that is too big means wasted fuel. That is why we hold a free preliminary survey. For countryside and international moves by video call, so one trip fewer.
6. Keep packing materials in circulation
Use towels, bedding and jumpers between fragile items: the textiles travel too, and you need less wrap. After unpacking, put bubble wrap and tissue paper aside for next time, or pass them on. What you will need is covered in the our article on packing supplies helps.
