Piano and upright piano moving in Budapest and abroad
Which instruments do we move, and where to?
Herkules-Trans has moved grand pianos, upright pianos and other instruments within Budapest, across Hungary and abroad since 1999, with experienced colleagues and full liability insurance. We protect the instrument with furniture blankets and film, secure it in the cargo area and bring it down from upper floors, with an external furniture hoist if needed. We give a fixed price based on the instrument's weight and size, the floor and the distance; no two moves are the same. Get to Know Our Company.
A piano is a delicate instrument: even a small knock can cause serious damage, so it is worth entrusting the move to experienced professionals with the right equipment.
Herkules-Trans staff treat the instrument as their own for the entire duration of the transport. More than 70% of our customers are returning customers. See what our customers said about us!
Possible challenges during transport and their solutions
When moving pianos to or from upper floors, there are situations that call for special techniques (e.g. lifting or lowering through a window or over a railing), and in extreme cases we may need additional equipment, such as a temporary furniture lift or even a crane.
Some minor detuning of pianos and upright pianos is unavoidable - not only due to being moved, but also because of the change in climate conditions. That is why, on request, we can also arrange for a piano tuner following a professional piano move. Over many years of transports, we have delivered hundreds of instruments to our clients without damage.

How much does piano moving in Budapest cost?
The price of piano moving in Budapest is always an individual fixed price, which we confirm in writing after a free on-site survey and which does not change at the end of the job. No two piano moves are the same, so we do not quote general “from” prices.
The price depends on five things: the make and exact dimensions of the instrument, the floor, whether there is a lift, and the distance. Instrument transport is not part of the home moving base fee (see the moving prices page), it appears as a separate item in the quote.
How does moving a piano or upright piano work?
We have been transporting pianos, upright pianos, harpsichords and organs since 1999. At the survey we look at the instrument, the stairwell and the lift, then transport it with a crew sized to the weight of the instrument, with protective packing and securing. If the piano does not fit through the stairwell, we move it with an external furniture hoist or, if necessary, a crane.
Does the piano go out of tune during transport?
A minimal detuning is unavoidable, so on request we can also arrange a piano tuner after the transport. We transport instruments both within Hungary and abroad.
