Moving prices in Budapest 2026: transparent hourly rates, no hidden costs

We offer four categories by crew and truck size: a 20 m³ truck with 2 movers (HUF 18,000 + VAT base fee, HUF 18,000/hour + VAT) for smaller jobs; a 20 m³ truck with 3 movers (HUF 24,000 + VAT base fee, HUF 24,000/hour + VAT) for medium home moves; a 40 m³ truck with 4 movers (HUF 36,000 + VAT base fee, HUF 36,000/hour + VAT) for large home moves; a 40 m³ truck with 6 movers (HUF 52,000 + VAT base fee, HUF 52,000/hour + VAT) for large homes or offices. There is no call-out fee within Budapest.

The minimum fee is the base fee plus 2 hours of work; after that the actual working time counts. For example, a minimal (2-hour) home move with a crew of 3 costs HUF 72,000 + VAT in total (HUF 24,000 + VAT base fee + 2 × HUF 24,000 + VAT hourly rate) — the final amount depends on the actual working time.

Within Budapest there is no call-out fee and no mileage charge. The minimum charge is the base fee plus 2 hours of work; after that we charge the actual working time until unloading is finished. There are no hidden items: the base fee and hourly rate in the written quote do not change at the end of the job.

A 1–2 room flat typically moves in one day, with a crew of 3 and a 20 m³ truck. The minimum, 2-hour job costs nettó 72.000 Ft (HUF 24,000 base fee + 2 × HUF 24,000 hourly rate); the final amount depends on the actual working time, which we record in writing after the free on-site survey. For a larger flat or a family house we recommend a 40 m³ truck and a crew of 4–6.

Each additional mover increases both the base fee and the hourly rate by HUF 6,000 + VAT.

We give an individual price based on weight, distance and loading conditions for the following: safes; pianos, upright pianos, organs; fireplaces, grills; high-capacity floor-standing printers, plotters; industrial fridges or other industrial machinery and tanks; as well as the zone-dependent parking fee and the entry permit, where required. Packing materials (adhesive tape, wrap, bubble wrap, corrugated paper) are not part of the base fee either; they appear as a separate item in the quote. There is, however, no separate floor or stairwell surcharge: the floor and the lack of a lift are reflected through the working time.

No. At weekends, in the evening and on public holidays we work at the same base fee and hourly rate as on weekdays. A surcharge applies only to night work; we state its amount in advance, in writing, in the individual quote.

We don't give an exact number of hours in advance, because no two homes are the same. There can be a several-fold difference between a sparsely and a densely furnished three-room flat: 10–20 boxes are not the same as 100–200, some people have two or three potted plants and others half a forest, and a lot depends on whether you want packing, whether furniture needs dismantling and reassembly, which floor it is on and whether there is a lift. We always recommend the number of movers to match the quantity and the loading conditions: for a studio or a few pieces of furniture typically a 20 m³ truck with 2 movers, for a 1–2 room flat a 20 m³ truck with 3 movers, for a large flat or a family house a 40 m³ truck with 4–6 movers. After the free survey we send a written quote with the recommended crew size, and the final amount depends on the actual working time.

Five factors: the amount of belongings, which determines the truck size and the number of movers; the distance between the two addresses; the floor and the size of the lift; the parking distance from the entrance; and whether you need packing. We assess these at the free survey, in person or by video call – we don't guess over the phone. A 20 m³ truck holds the furniture of a one- or two-room flat; a 40 m³ truck holds a large flat or family house in one trip.

For international moves we give a fixed price based on the distance, the route and the quantity to be transported, after a free survey. If the move start or finish, the base fee depends on mileage and tolls, while the hourly rate stays the same. For office moves you can choose between hourly and fixed-price billing.

For transporting a few pieces of furniture the 20 m³ truck + 2 movers package is the right one: HUF 18,000 + VAT base fee + HUF 18,000/hour + VAT, with a minimum of 2 hours of labour. We also move a single item, such as a fridge, sofa or wardrobe, within Budapest; in some cases we work with a fixed amount – details on the small moves page. These are not included in the base fee: once we know the weight and exact dimensions of the instrument or safe, the floor, the lift and the distance, we give for piano moving a fixed price, for safe transportation an individual price.

No. The net base fee and hourly rate stated in the written quote do not change at the end of the job, and a fixed-price quote does not change either, even if the work takes longer than expected. If there are more belongings on site than we saw at the survey, we charge the actual working time, but the hourly rate stays the same. What we don't set ourselves is listed in advance as a separate item in the quote: zone-based parking fees and entry permits.

We do not ask for a deposit for domestic moves. For international moves we ask for the deposit stated in the quote, by bank transfer.

A move can be cancelled or changed free of charge at least two to three days before the date. If the cancellation arrives within 24 hours of the move, the minimum charge – the base fee plus 2 hours of labour – is payable.
