Safes over 500 kg: free on-site survey
For moving or transporting safes over 500 kg, we always recommend a free, no-obligation preliminary inspection (on-site survey), so that our team can prepare - taking into account local conditions (floors, narrow stairwells, staircase turns, elevator use, furniture that may need to be moved, route planning) and with the necessary equipment - to carry out the task smoothly.
After the on-site visit, we provide a fair quote, and you can be confident that this delicate and difficult task will be risk-free for you.
For special transport situations, we use an external furniture lift.

What does the price of safe transport depend on?
Safe transportation is not part of the home moving base fee: an individual price is given based on weight, size, floor, lift and distance. We move safes of up to 2 tonnes, with lifting equipment and professional securing; above 500 kg we always carry out a free on-site (or video-call) survey and send the price in writing. We handle both residential and business safes and vaults, within a room, between floors or between two addresses, in Hungary and within Europe. Home moving price list: moving prices.
Moving and transporting heavy items
We don't just move safes. With the same equipment and methods we transport any item that two people cannot lift: industrial refrigerators and tanks, industrial machinery, fireplaces and cast-iron stoves, garden grills, large-capacity floor-standing printers and plotters, solid wood and marble-top furniture, sculptures and large aquariums.
None of these are included in the base fee for a move: we give an individual price based on the weight, the exact dimensions, the floor, the lift and the carrying distance. So please mention them at the survey and, if you know it, tell us the weight too.
What is needed to move a heavy item?
- Prior survey: the stairwell, the landings, the lift's load capacity and the size of the door openings determine which route is possible.
- Several movers and the right equipment: wheeled lifting trolley, straps, pulley system, sliding boards and floor protection.
- Alternative route: if the stairwell is not passable, we work with an external furniture hoist , i.e. through the window.
- Liability insurance: we work with full liability insurance.
