Moving in Pest County: the agglomeration and the entire county

There is no call-out fee within Budapest. For addresses in Pest County we set the base fee once we know the exact addresses, while the hourly rate is the same as in the capital. The moving boxes and the on-site survey are free of charge.

How much does moving in Pest County cost?
The same hourly system applies as in Budapest: HUF 18,000 base fee + HUF 18,000/hour with a 20 m³ truck and 2 movers, HUF 24,000 + HUF 24,000/hour with 3 people, HUF 36,000 + HUF 36,000/hour with a 40 m³ truck and 4 people, HUF 52,000 + HUF 52,000/hour with 6 people. The minimum charge is the base fee plus 2 hours of work.

The difference is in the call-out. We always set the base fee once we know the exact addresses. In more distant towns of the county, such as Vác or Cegléd, the base fee depends on mileage and tolls, while the hourly rate stays the same and is charged until unloading is finished. Moving to Gödöllő, Dunakeszi and Szentendre
We move households to Gödöllő, Dunakeszi and Szentendre, and from there back to Budapest, at the same hourly rate as within Budapest. The base fee is set from the two exact addresses, and the survey is free.
What do we pay attention to in the agglomeration?
In Pest County, most moves are from or to a house with a garden, which is a different task from a Budapest apartment block.
- Driveway and street: whether the 40 m³ truck fits, or whether it is better to work with the 20 m³ truck and several trips. In hilly and hillside areas, such as Pomáz and Budakeszi, this is decisive.
- Long garden path: the carrying distance makes up most of the working hours, so in these cases we plan more movers.
- Cellar, garage, attic, shed: their contents are often more than the living space. Whatever you are not taking with you, we take away in the same trip as the move.
- One trip: for moves to the countryside and the agglomeration, going back for a second load takes a lot of time, so we recommend a larger truck instead.
Junk removal and property clearance in Pest County
The free annual door-to-door bulky waste collection in the agglomeration towns runs in MOHU's appointment-based system: a date can be booked once a year per property, for 1 to 6 m³ depending on the town. If that is not enough, or the junk is in the cellar, garage or attic, we typically come out within 2–4 days, carry it down and take it to an official waste processing centre.

Moving from Budapest to the agglomeration and back
The most common direction is moving from the capital to a house with a garden. In this case, besides the furnishings, there is usually a second task: the Budapest apartment has to be handed over empty, and the furniture has to be assembled in the new house. We handle both, and our additional services include installing chandeliers, curtain rails and washing machines.
