How does a move between two towns work?

Moving prices to the countryside: from Budapest to the countryside and Pest County

If the move starts or ends outside Budapest, the hourly rate is the same as in Budapest (HUF 18,000/hour with 2 movers, HUF 24,000/hour with 3 movers, HUF 36,000/hour with 4 movers), counted until unloading is finished; the base fee depends on the distance and tolls is set individually. Within Budapest there is no call-out fee; in the Pest County agglomeration we set the base fee once we know the exact addresses. There is no surcharge for a longer route, only the actual extra cost (fuel, tolls, working time). For an exact written quote we carry out a free on-site or video survey. Which cities do we move to from Budapest?

We handle moves throughout Hungary, in both directions: from Budapest to the rest of the country and from the rest of the country to Budapest. The table shows the most common destination cities, with the approximate road distance and whether you should typically plan for one or two days. The schedule is also affected by the quantity and the loading conditions, so we always fix it after the survey.

For smaller loads we can complete the move in one day from anywhere to anywhere within Hungary; the table applies to larger moves. Distances are approximate road distances, not exact route lengths. We also move to smaller settlements, not only to the cities listed.

Why is a move between two cities different from one within Budapest?

In three ways. The first is travel time: a few hours of driving come between loading and unloading, which also shows up in hourly billing, so for long-distance moves the base fee depends on the distance and road tolls, while the hourly rate stays the same.

The second is quantity: for long-distance moves everything typically has to go in one trip, because going back for a second load is not an option. So it is better to choose a larger truck here than would be enough in Budapest.

The third is the date: a long-distance trip has to be scheduled for a whole day, so it is worth booking 6–8 days in advance, and rather 1–2 weeks for a two-day transport.

Moving from the countryside to Budapest

We work on the same terms in the other direction. The most common case is moving to the capital for studies or work, when often only the furnishings of one room and a few boxes travel: for this a 20 m³ truck with 2 movers is sufficient, and you will find details on the small moves page.

If the Budapest apartment is not ready yet, in the meantime we can store them, so the two dates do not have to be aligned. The Pest County agglomeration is a special case: we come there from our Érd base, see moving in Érd.
