What makes up the price of junk removal?
- Labour: the capacity-based fee of the team and truck needed for the amount of junk and the loading conditions.
- Travel: the waste processing centre is not in Budapest, so the journey there is also part of the cost.
- Unloading at the waste processing centre.
- Landfill and disposal fee: this is set by the waste processing centre, depends on the amount of junk and can be a significant part of the total.
Why don't we give an hourly rate for junk removal?
Because the landfill fee and the travel depend on the amount of junk and the location. An hourly example would therefore be misleading: with the same number of working hours, the total for two junk removals can differ a lot.
What should you send so we can give an accurate quote?
- A few photos of the junk and the room (cellar, attic, flat).
- The address, the floor and whether there is a lift.
- Where the truck can stop and how far it is from the entrance.
- If you know, the estimated amount of junk.
- Your preferred date.
What is not included in the junk removal price?
- Hazardous waste: paint, thinner, chemicals, batteries, gas cylinders. We are not allowed to transport these; they can be handed in at MOHU waste yards.
- Construction debris and rubble: we do not transport them; MOHU waste yards accept them for a fee.
- Zone-based parking fee and entry permit: where needed, it appears as a separate item in the quote.
- Deep cleaning: we hand over the rooms swept clean; cleaning is available on request.
Free MOHU junk collection or paid junk removal: which is better when?
In Budapest, MOHU (formerly FKF) collects junk left out on the street free of charge once a year, on a day announced in advance for each district. If that date suits you and you can put the junk out on the street, the free collection is the right choice. If you are about to move, sell or renovate, or you cannot carry the junk down, you need paid junk removal.

Is it cheaper if I carry the junk down myself?
Yes, because it means fewer working hours. If the junk is ready inside the gate, close to the truck, you only pay for loading and transport time.
How soon can you come?
Typically within 2–4 days, at a time agreed with you. In urgent cases let us know and we will see what we can do.
Where does the removed junk go?
To an official waste processing centre. Anything still usable we take for recycling or donation where possible.
Do you take away old fridges or washing machines?
Yes, household appliances are part of our junk removal service. However, electronic waste cannot be put out for the MOHU annual junk collection.
