What other kinds of moves do we handle in Budapest?

In addition to home moving, we cover the full range of moving services in the capital:

Which districts do we work in?

We move in all 23 districts of Budapest, in Buda and Pest, from the city centre to the outer districts, and in the Pest County agglomeration as well. From our Érd base we also reach the southern part of the agglomeration quickly: moving in Érd. Within Budapest we come with no call-out fee.

  • I Budavár Várnegyed, Tabán, Víziváros

District I (Budavár, Castle District, Tabán, Víziváros): vehicle access to the Castle District (Várnegyed) requires a permit, which must be arranged before the move; cobbled, narrow streets and listed buildings, where we also protect the gateway and stairwell; in Víziváros, steep streets and old buildings without lifts.

  • II Rózsadomb Pasarét, Pesthidegkút

District II (Rózsadomb, Pasarét, Pesthidegkút): villas and hillside family houses with steep, narrow streets and long garden driveways; around Margit körút, apartment buildings without lifts.

  • III Óbuda Békásmegyer, Csillaghegy

District III (Óbuda, Békásmegyer): housing estate panel buildings, where the size of the lift matters; narrow streets and parking in central Óbuda; houses with gardens in Csillaghegy and Rómaifürdő.

  • IV Újpest Káposztásmegyer, Megyer

District IV (Újpest, Káposztásmegyer, Megyer): the ten-storey prefab blocks of Káposztásmegyer and central Újpest, where the size of the lift and booking it in advance matter; at the houses with gardens in old Újpest and Megyer, we clear more storerooms, cellars and garages.

  • V Belváros Lipótváros, Parliament area

District V (Belváros, Lipótváros, Parliament area): pedestrian streets, restricted vehicle access and paid parking, so we organise the loading spot in advance; spacious period apartments with high ceilings, often with a narrow, old lift or none at all.

  • VI Terézváros Andrássy út, Nagykörút

District VI (Terézváros, Andrássy út, Grand Boulevard): turn-of-the-century tenement buildings with open walkways, inner courtyards and high floors; zoned parking and busy streets, so we time the loading around the traffic.

  • VII Erzsébetváros Inner and Outer Erzsébetváros

District VII (Erzsébetváros, Inner and Outer Erzsébetváros): Budapest's most densely populated district: narrow streets, tenement buildings with open walkways, inner courtyards; in the inner part we schedule loading for the morning where possible, when there is less traffic.

  • VIII Józsefváros Palotanegyed, Corvin-negyed

District VIII (Józsefváros, Palace Quarter, Corvin Quarter): the high-ceilinged tenement buildings of Palotanegyed, the new residential complexes along Corvin sétány with underground car parks and goods lifts, and the family houses of Tisztviselőtelep.

  • IX Ferencváros Ráday utca, József Attila housing estate

District IX (Ferencváros, Ráday utca, József Attila housing estate): old tenement buildings with narrow stairwells in the inner part, new apartment buildings with goods lifts in the regenerated middle part, and prefab blocks in the outer part.

  • X Kőbánya Újhegy, Óhegy

District X (Kőbánya, Újhegy, Óhegy): the prefab blocks of the Újhegy housing estate and the family houses of Óhegy and Kőbánya-Kertváros; parking is typically easier than in the inner districts.

  • XI Újbuda Kelenföld, Gazdagrét

District XI (Újbuda): the district of our base; the panel buildings of Kelenföld and Gazdagrét with small lifts, the turn-of-the-century apartment buildings of Szentimreváros with inner courtyards, the steep streets of Sashegy.

  • XII Hegyvidék Svábhegy, Normafa

District XII (Hegyvidék): villas and multi-storey houses in winding streets where the 40 m³ truck does not always fit; we plan extra movers for the carrying distance.

  • XIII Angyalföld Újlipótváros, Vizafogó

District XIII (Újlipótváros, Angyalföld): 1930s apartment buildings with small lifts and a paid parking zone; in the riverside residential parks, underground garages and goods lift booking.

  • XIV Zugló Herminamező, Alsórákos

District XIV (Zugló): suburban family houses, apartment buildings on Thököly út and the Füredi út housing estate; around the City Park, advance space reservation because of zone parking.

  • XV Rákospalota Újpalota, Pestújhely

District XV (Rákospalota, Újpalota, Pestújhely): the large Újpalota housing estate, where we book the lift in advance, and the houses with gardens in Rákospalota and Pestújhely; parking is typically easier here.

  • XVI Kertváros Sashalom, Mátyásföld

District XVI (Kertváros, Sashalom, Mátyásföld): a predominantly residential district of family houses with garages, cellars, attics and garden furniture; we plan extra time and movers for these at the survey.

  • XVII Rákosmente Rákoskeresztúr, Rákoscsaba

District XVII (Rákosmente, Rákoskeresztúr, Rákoscsaba): an extensive, suburban district with family houses and the housing estate in central Rákoskeresztúr; because of the longer distances, we plan the route in advance.

  • XVIII Pestszentlőrinc Havanna housing estate, Pestszentimre

District XVIII (Pestszentlőrinc, Havanna housing estate, Pestszentimre): the prefab blocks of the Havanna and Lakatos housing estates, and the houses with gardens in Pestszentlőrinc and Pestszentimre, full of belongings accumulated over decades, some of which we also clear out as junk removal.

  • XIX Kispest Wekerletelep, Kispest centre

District XIX (Kispest, Wekerletelep, Kispest centre): the distinctive, protected houses and narrow streets of Wekerletelep, and the housing estate in central Kispest, where the size of the lift determines what can go up in one piece.

  • XX Pesterzsébet Gubacsidűlő, Kossuthfalva

District XX (Pesterzsébet, Gubacsidűlő, Kossuthfalva): the housing estates of central Pesterzsébet and the family houses of its suburban areas; quickly reached from our District XI base via Köves út and Gubacsi út.

  • XXI Csepel Királyerdő, Csillagtelep

District XXI (Csepel, Királyerdő, Csillagtelep): the prefab blocks of central Csepel and the family houses of Királyerdő and Csillagtelep; the island is reached via bridges, so we recommend setting off outside rush hour.

  • XXII Budafok-Tétény Nagytétény, Budatétény

District XXII (Budafok-Tétény, Nagytétény, Budatétény): it borders District XI, so it is close to our base; characterised by sloping plots, family houses with cellars and smaller apartment buildings.

  • XXIII Soroksár Újtelep, Molnár-sziget

District XXIII (Soroksár, Újtelep, Molnár Island): Budapest's youngest district (independent since 1994), mostly made up of family houses; easily reached both from our registered office in Érd and from our District XI base.

We work the same way in the agglomeration: at the survey we also look at the stairwell, the lift and parking, and adjust the crew and the truck accordingly.

Frequently asked questions about moving in Budapest

Within Budapest we bill by the hour: HUF 18,000 base fee + HUF 18,000/hour with a 20 m³ truck and 2 movers, HUF 24,000 base fee + HUF 24,000/hour with 3 movers. Call-out is free in Budapest, the moving boxes are free, and the on-site survey is free and without obligation. The minimum fee is the base fee plus 2 hours of work. The full price list can be found on the moving prices page.

All prices shown are net amounts and do not include VAT at the applicable rate.

Yes, the on-site survey is free and without obligation; we give an accurate quote based on it.

For transporting a few pieces of furniture or a studio flat, a 20 m³ truck with 2 movers is enough. For a medium, 1–2 room flat we recommend a 20 m³ truck and a crew of 3. A large flat, a family house or an office needs a 40 m³ truck and 4–6 movers. We assess and recommend this at the survey; you do not have to work it out yourself.

On request we also do the complete packing and unpacking, including packing materials.

It is advisable, especially in the inner-city districts: if there is no free space in front of the building, we recommend arranging it with the local council in advance, or let us know so we can prepare too. Where an entry permit is required, we can obtain it as an additional service; the zone-dependent parking fee and the entry permit appear as separate items in the quote and are not part of the base fee.

Reserve a parking space for the truck, make sure the lift can be used, and mark the fragile boxes.

Yes. On request we also move in the evening, at weekends and on public holidays, at the same base fee and hourly rate as on weekdays: there is no weekend, evening or public-holiday surcharge. A surcharge applies only to night work, and we state its amount in the quote. We agree the date at the on-site survey.

There is no separate floor or stairwell surcharge. Without a lift the work takes longer, which is reflected in the hourly billing; we see the stairwell at the survey, so the quote already takes this into account.

Moving a 1–2 room flat typically takes one day. The exact time is determined by the quantity, the floor, the lift and the parking distance of the truck.

For such cases we work with a special external furniture hoist , with which we lower or lift the furniture through the window. This is not discovered on moving day; we plan it at the survey.

Yes. We have full liability insurance under the terms of the Central European Mutual Insurance Association.

We have been moving people since 1999 with a permanent team of movers who have worked with us for many years, and more than 70% of our clients are returning customers. We provide boxes against a deposit, the survey is free, the price is predictable, and if anything goes wrong during the move, we take responsibility.

For a morning start we give a fixed start time and keep to it. If your move falls later in the day because another job comes first, you get an indicative time, and we confirm it by phone about an hour before we arrive. If there is any delay, the office calls you, sometimes the crew leader. You don't have to chase us.

We confirm every order in writing, with the time, the truck size and the number of movers.

As many movers arrive as the written quote states: 2 or 3 with a 20 m³ truck, 4 or 6 with a 40 m³ truck, based on the survey. If a mover drops out on moving day, we replace them; we don't start with fewer people. You don't have to carry anything: bringing down, loading and carrying up is the crew's job.

We protect upholstered and glossy furniture with furniture blankets and shrink wrap, dismantle what can be taken apart, and attach the screws in a bag to the furniture. Every piece is secured in the cargo area; the fridge and wardrobes travel upright. The crew always brings tools, so you don't need to provide anything for dismantling and reassembly. If a piece doesn't fit through the stairwell, we take it through the window with an external furniture hoist.

Yes, always. The crew brings screwdrivers, Allen keys and tape.

We work with full liability insurance. If damage occurs during transport, in the case of major damage we record it in a report on site. The crew leader investigates on site, and if it is clear that we caused the damage, in the case of minor damage we aim to settle it on the spot. You don't have to argue with the movers or correspond afterwards.

With hourly billing we charge the actual working time until unloading is finished, and the hourly rate does not change. The minimum is the base fee plus 2 hours of labour. If we gave a fixed price at the survey, it stays the same even if the work takes longer.

Yes. The move goes ahead in bad weather too; we protect furniture with film and the cargo area is enclosed.

Both are possible: we can arrange it, or you can, and we will tell you where the truck needs to be. In the inner-city districts (I, V, VI, VII) the entry permit must be started before the move; its fee and the zone-based parking fee are not part of the base fee and appear as a separate item in the quote.

No, smoking in the flat is not allowed. In the yard only if you allow it.
